Dr Martin Saweirs General Practitioner, runs a professional private practice in Central London. After completing his undergraduate medical training at the prestigious University of Edinburgh, Dr Martin Saweirs moved to London and worked in several large teaching hospitals. He gained vast experience across the spectrum of adult acute medicine and surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics and gynaecology as well as psychiatry. Dr Saweirs was interviewed in 2016 on Sky News about Hillary Clinton's diagnosis of pneumonia and more recently appearing on Sky News Sunrise discussing allergies and intolerances. Dr Perrett began his medical career at the University of Bristol, before moving on to postgraduate studies in Oxford and London, achieving membership of the Royal College of Physicians in 2001. Since then, he has undertaken extensive specialist dermatology training at some of the UK’s leading hospitals, including Barts and The London and The Royal Free Hospital, as well as completing a dermatological and Mohs surgery fellowship at the University Hospital of Wales’ Welsh Institute of Dermatology. Dr Perrett is a member of the Royal Society of Medicine, the British Association of Dermatologists, the British Society for Dermatological Surgery and the British Medical Laser Association and is also on the Board of The British Society for Skin Care in Immunocompromised Individuals. Dr Perrett is also the lead for Mohs surgery on the London Cancer Skin Pathway Board and is an honorary senior lecturer at Imperial College and University College London (UCL), two of the UK’s most renowned academic institutions. Dr Perrett is passionate about advancing our knowledge and understanding of dermatology, especially skin cancer and its treatment, and continues to conduct research alongside his clinical duties. Previously he was awarded a prestigious Cancer Research UK (CR-UK) Clinical Research Fellowship working at their world renowned London Research Institute, as well as the Blizzard Institute of Cell and Molecular Science at Barts and The London and the St John’s Institute of Dermatology. For his research on skin cancer he was awarded a PhD by the University of London. He has presented his work nationally and internationally and published in world class journals including Science.
Dr Jonathan Krell qualified in medicine at Leeds University Medical School, where he also gained a first-class honours degree in pharmacology. After completion of junior doctor posts at St. James\' Hospital in Leeds and Guy\'s and St. Thomas\' hospitals in London, he undertook his training in oncology at Charing Cross and Hammersmith hospitals in London. His clinical focus is on the systemic management of patients with breast and gynaecological malignancies. Dr Krell has published over 100 peer-reviewed papers in journals such as the Lancet Oncology, Genome Research, the Journal of Clinical Oncology, Blood and Breast Cancer Research, and regularly presents new data from his research at major national and international conferences. Dr Krell’s clinical focus is on the systemic management of patients with Gynaecological Cancer and Breast Cancers. Dr Krell also has a specialist clinical interest in cancer genetics and hereditary malignancies, particularly those involving the Breast Cancer (BRCA) gene and other genetic mutations.
Dr Krell qualified in medicine at Leeds University Medical School, where he also gained a Bachelor’s degree in microbiology and immunology. He completed his junior doctor training at Guys and St. Thomas’ Hospitals and University College Hospital before undertaking his oncology training at The Royal Free and University College Hospitals in London. Dr Krell’s DPhil research was undertaken at Oxford University, at the Wellcome Trust Centre for Human Genetics. Dr Krell’s research investigated the role that genetic mutations in genes controlling cellular metabolism play in the development of cancer, with the aim of identifying new therapeutic targets in this area. He continues to be involved in clinical research and clinical trials aimed at identifying new cancer therapies, with a focus on gastrointestinal and hepatobiliary cancers. Dr Krell has published several peer-reviewed papers in journals such as the British Journal of Cancer and Lancet Oncology. His clinical work focuses on the management of patients with gastric, oesophageal, colorectal, pancreatic, liver and biliary tract cancers using chemotherapy, targeted therapy and immunotherapies. He also manages patients with cancer of unknown primary and is the clinical lead at his institution for this. He also acts as the clinical lead for gastro-oesophageal and hepatobiliary cancer.
Professor Thomson Consultant Paediatric Gastroenterologist, Interventional Endoscopist and Professor in Paediatric Gastroenterology, has clinics in Sheffield and Central London.Professor Mike Thomson was trained firstly in Paediatrics then in the sub-speciality of Paediatric Gastroenterology and also focused widely on Paediatric Hepatology and Paediatric Nutrition. Professor Mike Thomson graduated from Aberdeen Medical School in 1985 and started paediatric gastroenterology training in 1987/8. In the early 1990s he spent five years working in Australia, as a Clinical Research Fellow in gastroenterology and cystic fibrosis at the Royal Children's Hospital Foundation in Brisbane with Prof Ross Shepherd. While there he was awarded his Medical Doctorate on cystic fibrosis genetics and energy expenditure. Professor Thomson has presented international invited lectures on over 300 occasions, has published over 100 internationally peer-review original papers, has published many abstracts from international meetings, has written over 30 chapters in internationally recognised text books, and has edited and published 6 text books in paediatrics. He runs an active research programme and is the Director of the International Academy of Paediatric Endoscopy Training, attracting graduates from North and South America, Europe, Australasia and other regions around the world.
Mr Sethi qualified at University College London Medical School. He then went on to complete his specialist orthopaedic training at Oswestry and Birmingham. Mr Sethi completed specialist fellowship training in Australia pursuing his specialist interest in knee sports injuries. Prior to that he completed specialist fellowship training in the UK focusing on sports injuries and joint replacement surgery. Mr Sethi's interests cover the range of knee surgery including arthroscopic anterior and posterior cruciate ligament reconstruction for the unstable knee, repair of a torn meniscus, surgery for patello-femoral problems, through to osteotomy and joint replacement for the worn arthritic knee. Within joint replacement surgery Mr Sethi carries out both partial and total knee replacements. Mr Sethi is also actively involved with research and teaching both nationally and internationally. He collects data on the outcome of his surgery and registers his patients on the National Ligament Registry dedicated to analysing and improving the outcome of Cruciate ligament reconstruction. Mr Sethi holds the current membership(s) of professional, national and regional bodies, Royal College of Surgeons of England, British Orthopaedic Association (BOA), British Association for Surgery of the Knee (BASK), British Orthopaedic Sports Trauma and Arthroscopy Association (BOSTAA), The Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and the General Medical Council (GMC). Mr Sethi has published research papers in respected peer review journals and presented papers nationally and internationally.Mr Sethi has delivered lectures on knee surgery to both post graduates and undergraduates. He was previously Honorary Clinical Teacher at University of Leicester Medical School.
After qualifying from the University of Liverpool, Mr Crane completed his house jobs at the Royal Liverpool University, St George’s, Chelsea and Westminster, St Mary’s and Great Ormond Street hospitals. Mr Crane underwent higher surgical training in north west London, completing vascular surgery training at St Mary’s Hospital and specialist transplantation surgery training at Hammersmith, St George’s and Guy’s hospitals. Mr Crane undertook a postgraduate degree at Imperial College and St Mary’s Hospital. He was awarded a Doctorate of Medicine from the University of London for his MD thesis in the subject of haemodynamic and blood flow patterns in vascular surgery. Mr Crane’s specialist interests include kidney and pancreatic transplantation surgery (with both deceased and live donors), vascular access surgery and mainstream vascular surgery. Mr Crane has several publications and letters including many presentations to learned societies. Mr Crane is also the co-founder of the ‘Save Your Vein’ Campaign. Save Your Vein is an awareness campaign to educate and empower renal patients and teach healthcare professionals the importance of vein preservation which has been incredibly well received by patients and staff.
Miss Désirée Kolomainen graduated from King's College School of Medicine, London. Following completion of training in obstetrics and gynaecology in North East Thames, Miss Kolomainen undertook a fellowship at St George's Hospital, London, and completed subspecialty training in gynaecological cancer at The Royal Marsden Hospital. Miss Kolomainen has Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) dual accreditation as an Obstetrician & Gynaecologist (CCT 2006) and as a Gynaecological Oncologist (CCT 2011). Miss Kolomainen has RCOG certification in colposcopy, laparoscopy and gynaecological ultrasound. Miss Kolomainen specialises in the early detection and the treatment of gynaecological cancer: endometrial, cervical, ovarian, vulval and vaginal. Miss Kolomainen is qualified to perform both open and laparoscopic surgery. She can also perform colposcopy for patients with abnormal smears, and, offer treatment under local anaesthesia where appropriate. Miss Kolomainen has presented at both national and international meetings on early stage of ovarian cancer; surgical management of bowel obstruction in ovarian cancer; and, surgery for recurrent ovarian cancer and continues to teach at the Institute of Cancer Research.
Mr Morris is one of the leading independent Consultant Gynaecologists in London. He qualified from St Mary’s Hospital Medical School in 1984, and was awarded Membership of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (RCOG) in 1991. In 1993, he became the RCOG’s WellBeing Training Fellow. Dr Morris has been a pioneer of women’s health throughout his career, he established his full time private practice in London in 2005. Dr Morris has a specialist interest in genital and pelvic floor surgery. Mr Morris has written numerous publications in journals such as the British Journal of Obstetrics and Gynaecology and European Journal of Clinical Investigation.
